
Moynalvey had a comprehensive win over Simonstown Gaels in round seven of the PMC Physiotherapy Division 9 football league played at Kilmore Park Moynalvey on Friday evening June 5th.

It was a clash of Moynalvey’s second team against Simonstown’s third team here, both sides lining out with just the fifteen players each, Moynalvey inclusive of manager David Durkan lining out at corner back it was the men in maroon who picked up their fifth win of the campaign.
It was one way traffic for the most part of this contest, the game being essentially over when referee Shane Mooney blew his half time whistle as the home side had done the damage with four goals in the opening half.
Moynalvey had 2-5 on the score board within the opening ten minutes before the visitors got off the mark on the quarter hour mark. Moynalvey’s two goals coming from James O’Neill and Paul Corcoran, with points from O’Neill, Evan Drum, Ray Ryan (2) and Luke O’Halloran.
A brace from Simonstown left it 2-5 to 0-2 before Moynalvey added a third goal by Ray Ryan followed by a Cian Williams point, 3-6 to 0-2 with twenty five minutes played.
Simonstown added a third point followed by another pair of Moynalvey points from Luke O’Halloran and Paul Corcoran to leave it 4-7 to 0-3 at half time.

It was more of the same from Moynalvey after the break as they added four points without response before Simonstown Gaels scored their fourth point on the three quarter hour mark. Those Moynalvey points coming from Luke O’Halloran, Ray Ryan (2) and James Kelly.
Things got for worse for Simonstown with the concession of a further two goals within sixty seconds, the first a rocket from Paul Corcoran to the top corner of the Simonstown net and the second a cool finish from Aaron McCabe under the body of the ‘keeper, 6-11 to 0-4 eighteen minutes into the second half.
Both sides went on to add four points each to their full time tallies, Moynalvey’s points coming from Ray Ryan, Cian Williams, James O’Neill and Evan Drum, leaving the full time score board read 6-15 to 0-8.
Having already conceded a couple of games in the league, credit to Simonstown for fulfilling this fixture.
Best for Moynalvey here were Adam Rooney, Cian Williams, Luke O’Halloran, Paul Corcoran, Stephen Donoghue, James O’Neill and top scorer Ray Ryan.
