The Meath team to take on Cork in the first round of the All Ireland SFC has been announced. Manager Robbie Brennan has been forced into changes with injuries to key players Ruairi Kinsella and Jack Flynn.
On the plus side Meath welcome back Mathew Costello to the starting line up. The All Star nominee has been out since mid February after picking up a leg injury in the Round 3 Allianz FL Division 2 win over Louth at Croke Park.
Veterans Donal Keogan and Bryan Menton are named in the full back and half back line respectively. Cian McBride and Adam O’Neill form the midfield partnership while Jordan Morris takes up the centre forward role in the absence of Kinsella. Cathal Hickey gets his first start of the year.
James Conlon, who made such an impact in the Division 2 final against the same opposition and in the Leinster opening round loss to Westmeath, is retained on the substitutes bench.
The experienced Ronan Jones and James McEntee also take their place in the reserves.
Throw in at Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday May 23rd is at 5.30pm with the game televised on GAA+.
