O’Mahony’s kept their good run in the Div 2 FL going, making it five wins from win against St Vincents on the Trim Road on Friday evening.
The visitors opened the scoring almost immediately with Robbie Keelaghan responding in turn for O’Mahony’s. A minute later, Paddy Dillon found the net to give O’Mahony’s a three point lead. By the ten minute mark, another Keelaghan point and a goal from Aodan Mallon left seven between the sides.
St Vincents then picked up their performance and with a couple of two-pointers and a few points interluded with a Keelaghan point, O’Mahony’s gap was down to two. A goal from Shane McCarthy was disallowed before Mallon kicked a point.
A late two-pointer from St Vincents left the visitors going in with a single point lead at the break.

Duggie Dillon equalised for O’Mahony’s quickly after the resumption. Soon afterwards, O’Mahony’s were reduced to fourteen when Darragh Murphy was shown the line on a second yellow card.
The sides exchanged points, with Conor Finnegan scoring for O’Mahony’s. The sides were numerically level when a St Vincents player received a red card. Points from Dillon, Keelaghan and Evan Coffey left O’Mahony’s with a three point lead.
Although St Vincents managed three two pointers in the second half, O’Mahony’s managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over and had enough in the end. McCarthy got his goal on his second attempt. Ronan Clarke and Ivo Fitzherbert added their names to the scoresheet towards the end.
