FL Div 3: Four from five for Castletown

Castletown's Darragh Weldon

Castletown 0-17  Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-11 

Castletown made it four wins from five with this six points victory over Donaghmore/Ashbourne played in Castletown on Thursday evening.

Castletown without many regulars found the going tight in the first half against a very organised team and were level six points each at the interval. The lead changed hands on four occasions with the Castletown scores coming from Darragh Weldon with 0-5  (3fs) and wing half back Conal Sheridan with the other minor.

The home side upped the tempo in the second period and were six points up before the visitors got their opening point of the second half. Scores from Declan Cribbin three points from play, Darragh Weldon 0-3 (2fs), Adam Matthews two points from play and one point each for Riain Monaghan, Sean McKeown, and Dan Moran to Donaghmore/Ashbournes four points in reply to leave it 0-17 to 0-11 when  referee Derek Ryan sounded the fulltime whistle. Next  up for Castletown is Blackhall Gaels in round 6 in two weeks time.
