Kildalkey 1-9 St Peters Dunboyne 1-12
A last minute goal line save from a 20 meter free ensured that Dunboyne walked away from Kildalkey with a hard earned but well deserved victory in this Div 2 league encounter played on Saturday evening on Kildalkey's back pitch.
Dunboyne trailed by 5 points (Dunboyne 1-1 KIldalkey 1-6) at half time after playing directly into a gale force breeze. The black and ambers work rate all over the pitch was mostly excellent despite only taking 2 scores in this half including a well worked Niall Smyth goal. The Dunboyne defence will be disappointed to have conceded a soft goal, but otherwise limited Kildalkey to a few long range scores in the first half.
Eoghan McCormack got Dunboyne back on level terms on the 15th minute of the 2nd half with a nice point following four Sean Quigley points from frees and play. Shortly afterwards, Paul Graves and Cian Rohan added 2 further points to give Dunboyne a deserved lead. A mini resurgence from Kildalkey saw them pull back level before another 2 points from Quigley and one from McCormack gave Dunboyne a 3 point victory.
