April 14, 2026

Drumree's Josh Wall

Drumree delivered a commanding performance on home soil in Round 2 of the league, overpowering Trim with a convincing 2-24 to 1-3 victory.

From the throw-in, Drumree set the tone with intensity and precision, quickly asserting control across all areas of the field. Their defensive unit was composed and disciplined, limiting Trim to just two points in the opening half while also contributing to attacking play. Notably, Niall Gavin stood out with an excellent all-round performance, adding a point from play and driving forward at every opportunity.

At midfield, the pairing of Odhran O’Riordan and Gavin Byrne provided a strong platform, ensuring a steady supply of possession into a sharp and clinical forward line. Up front, Drumree were relentless. Josh Wall was in electric form, finishing with an impressive 1-7 from play, while Keith Rooney was equally influential, tallying 0-6 (including two frees and four from play). Their movement and accuracy consistently troubled the Trim defence.

Drumree’s attacking dominance was further highlighted by first-half contributions from Sean Kilcoyne, who raised a green flag alongside a trio of points, helping his side to a commanding 1-14 to 0-2 lead at the break.

Drumree continued to control proceedings in the second half, maintaining their intensity while introducing fresh legs from the bench. Substitutes made a positive impact in sustaining the tempo, with scores continuing to come from across the team.

Overall, this was a complete display from Drumree, with standout performances from Niall Gavin in defence and the dynamic attacking duo of Josh Wall and Keith Rooney proving the difference. They now carry strong momentum forward as the league campaign continues.
