Navan O’Mahony’s 1-16
Killyon 0-09
O’Mahony’s made it two from two in the Div 4 HL with a good win over Killyon in Paddy O’Brien Park on Friday evening. Conditions were awful for hurling, with icy winds and hailstones at stages throughout the match.
Killyon looked the have the upper hand early on in the match but points from Darragh Connell, Finn Maloe, Lorcan McDermott, Finn Malone and Jack McConnell settled things towards the end of the half. A McConnell ball into the square was directed to the net by a Killyon back and O’Mahony’s had a 1-07 to 0-05 lead at half time.
As conditions worsened in the second half, O’Mahony’s pushed further ahead. Connell converted a free as well as pointing from play while McConnell and McDermott also added scores. Sean McDermott added to his brothers tally, as did Diarmuid Collins and O’Mahony’s had a ten point lead in the end.
