
Dunsany 1-08 Moynalty 1-06
Moynalty were unlucky to come up just short against Dunsany in the third team match on Easter Sunday in Dunsany, losing out by just two points after a strong second-half fightback.
Dunsany led 1-03 to 0-01 at half time, but Moynalty stayed in touch thanks to hard work all over the field. Goalkeeper Tommy Owens made an important save from a Dunsany 45, while Jack Kavanagh and Kyle Cussen put in strong defensive blocks. James Lynch got Moynalty’s first score of the game.
Moynalty improved in the second half and showed great spirit, with Christy Cahill, Peter Olwill, Jake Smyth and Cillian Gaynor all adding points, while Eanna Bennett found the net to leave just two points between the sides. Bennett also had a good effort go wide in difficult windy conditions, and Peter Olwill was unlucky to see another chance drop short and gathered by the goalkeeper. Moynalty kept battling right to the end, but Dunsany just held on for a narrow win.
