Longwood 1-09 St Brigids 0-15
St Brigids travelled to Longwood on Sunday morning for Round three of the League in cold but dry conditions.
St Brigids started strongly with two points before the hosts nabbed a point followed by a goal and from there in a scrappy half ensued with mistakes from each side but Brigids were more efficient on the scoreboard leading at the break 0-10 to 1-05.
The second period seemed to follow the same narrative as scores were at a premium with ourselves notching five points to Longwoods four to run out victors on a three point advantage, 1-09 to 0-15.
Special mention to Padraig Plunkett who stood firm at the heart of our defence turning many of the Longwood attacks into offence driving forward at every opportunity and grabbing a point just as the game was starting to turn in Longwoods favour.
