Leading by 2-08 to 0-09 with twelve minutes remaining, Seneschalstown conceded two goals in sixty seconds and lost all the second half momentum they had as the visitors finished the stronger of the two sides.

The first quarter was a bit of a slow burner with the sides sharing four points. Johnny Gilsenan opened Seneschalstown’s account from a free before Dylan Keating added the second from play.

Things got even better for Seneschalstown just over a minute later when a ball broke kindly for Neill Darby around the edge of the large square and the wing forward pulled on the loose ball and finished superbly to the bottom left hand corner. From the kickout Seneschalstown worked another attacking move and Brian Maguire popped over the increase the lead to five points and Seneschalstown looked to be in a strong position.

However, the big turning point came straight after as St. Colmcille’s got in for two goals in sixty seconds to move a point ahead and rock Seneschalstown back on their heels.

The home side did recover as substitute Ross Mullen and full back Jack McDonnell hit points to edge them back in front but it was only brief respite as St. Colmcille’s got the last three points to win by two at the end of an all action second half.
