Kilmainhamwood 0-17 Drumconrath 0-7
Kilmainhamwood headed to Castletown on a bitter Friday evening to face local rivals Drumconrath in the 3rd Round of the Division 5 league.
Kilmainhamwood headed to the game with 2 wins looking to make it 3 on the bounce. There was a tense start to the game with both teams cautious and looking to make a good impression. Drumconrath struck first to put a point on the board, this was the only time the Drums lead the game.
Kilmainhamwood responded in kind with 2 pointed efforts from Rian Stafford. Kilmainhamwood ground into gear and were unlucky to not have a goal on the board after a disallowed Niall Bennett goal early in the first half. This didnt deter the Wood and they kept the pressure on a few minutes later a low driven shot from Rian Stafford hit the wrong side on the side netting to go narrowly wide. Aidan Roche kicked a free to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
