The umpires were kept busy in Kilberry on Saturday afternoon when O’Mahony’s and Wolfe Tones both put up high scores in this second round Div 4 FL encounter. Two goals from Cara Ratty in the opening ten minutes, along with scores from Alison O’Toole, gave O’Mahony’s a nine point advantage.

Wolfe Tones fought back strongly in the second quarter and O’Mahony’s needed points from Dee Forde and Chloe Duffy to maintain a six point advantage at the break. 

After the interval, Ratty pointed within seconds again but Wolfe Tones kicked some good scores to bring the gap back to four points. Genevieve Dorrigan and Duffy added scores from play and O’Toole’s accuracy from placed balls proved crucial in O’Mahony’s pulling ahead again. 

Wolfe Tones added some more scores but Dorrigan found the net on two occasions to keep distance between the teams. Áine Clarke, who started in goals, made some great clearances in the second half from the back line as did Aileen Falahee and O’Mahony’s made it two from two in this league.
