Kilbride pay tribute to the late Richie Rennicks

Richie proudly wore the Kilbride jersey for many years

Kilbride GFC and it's member's are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of our dear friend and club mate Richard “Richie” Rennick's.

The Rennick's name has been synonymous with our club for decades now, and Richie, along with his brothers Connor and Andrew, proudly wore the Kilbride jersey for many years, giving outstanding service and commitment to our club.

Richie was an exceptional footballer, remembered not only for his talent but also for his dedication and sportsmanship. His ability and work ethic saw him earn a place on Seán Boylan’s Meath senior panel, a testament to the high regard in which he was held as a player. Sadly, injury cut short what promised to be a long and distinguished career at the highest level.

Beyond his achievements on the field, Richie will be remembered as a true Gentleman, quiet and unassuming but a fierce competitor, generous with his time, and always proud to represent and support Kilbride. Despite his ill health Richie found the strength to take his place in the stands in Pairc Tailteann last October and cheer on the lads to victory in the Intermediate final and see us return to the senior ranks.

Our thoughts are with his Mother Maureen, brothers Robert, Andrew and Connor and all of Rennick's family, his friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and playing alongside him.

On behalf of the Club Executive, members, players, and supporters of Kilbride GFC, we extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. Richie’s contribution to our club will never be forgotten, and he will always be remembered as one of our own.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
