JFC: A draw sufficient for Dunderry to advance

September 01, 2025

Dunderry keeper Sean Brennan

Dunderry 0-11 Kilmainham 0-11

It was another dirty wet evening in Dunganny for this final Group B game between Dunderry and Kilmainham.

Cathal Barron took off down the near line - passed to Liggan who was pulled down and up came keeper Sean Brennan to slot over a fine two pointer.  Barron pointed himself next before Kilmainham scored from play. Ciarán Sheridan was fouled the next time we got the ball forward and Kelly pointed the free. Another Kelly free followed after Liggan was taken down this time.

Kilmainham bring it back to two from a fine Mickey Newman two pointer off the ground. Adam Kelly put Dunderry back up by three from another placed ball before he hit a fine two pointer to leave the score 0-8 to 0-3 and Dunderry were looking like pulling away.

Kilmainham weren't too keen on that idea though and with a brace from play and a two pointer free had them going to the dressing room only a point down.

Two more from play and a free gave them the perfect restart and it took another two pointer free from keeper supreme Brennan to level proceedings. A free each brought the second half to a close with honours even.

The point gained was enough for Dunderry to advance to the knockout stages.

Dunderry scorers: Adam Kelly 0-6, Seán Brennan 0-4(2x2p),Cathal Barron 0-1
