Bhulf Tón CLG 4-14 – CLG Baile Senchaill 1-8

Meascán de tháithí agus den óige a chuidigh le foireann sóisir Bhulf Tón bua maith a bheith acu in aghaidh Baile Seanchaill I bPáirc Bhaile Ghib aréir. Deirtear gur cúil a bhuann cluichí agus sin mar a bhí san chéad leath nuair a d'aimsigh Bhulf Tón trí chúl. Lean siad ar aghaidh ag cur na pointí agus cúl eile ar an gclár scórála sa dara leath chun críochnú le scór ard.

Bhulf Tón and Seneschalstown met in the superbly appointed Páirc Baile Ghib for Round two of the Meath Cleaning Supplies, Junior All-County Football Championship. The weather conditions were near perfect, as were the conditions on the always excellent Baile Ghib pitch. Shane McKeever got the Tones off to a flying start with a great individual goal on nine minutes, Sean Carey responded with a two pointer for the Yellow Furze men and the scoreline read 1-1 to 0-2 after 10 minutes. Conor McKeever pulled off a great reflex save for the Tones on 15 minutes and when Jamie Kirwan goaled on 23 minutes the home side were only one to the good 1-3 to 1-2. Both sides looked evenly matched at this stage but two goals in two minutes commencing on 27 minutes from Stephen Sheppard and Ben Reilly from the purple and yellow put a gap between the sides that Seneschalstown could not recover from. The sides went in at the break 3-6 to 1-2.

Bhulf Tón went on to dominate the second half playing some lovely free flowing attacking football. Shane McKeever got a second goal on 36 minutes after a clever quick free. Seneschalstown worked hard but a strong Tones outfit didn’t let up and despite a brace of excellent two pointers on 58 & 59 minutes from Seneschalstown the Tones won out 4-14 to 1-8.

This was an excellent team performance from the Bhulf Tón panel. Tones had solid performances from all players with Gearóid O’Brien, Rioghan Ó Beaglaíoch, Alan Callaghan, Ben Reilly, Shane McKeever, Stephen Sheppard and Ríán Ó Fiannaidhe all enjoying positive moments. The game concluded a good round two of the championship for the first and second team’s and round three awaits.
