Carnaross 0-17 St Colmcilles 4-12
Carnaross lost out to the travelling St Colmcilles side on Sunday morning to condemn the home side to a relegation playoff against Nobber.
Carnaross led at the break by the minimum with Liam Day to thank for some fine point blank saves in goals. The O'Reilly brothers together with Dillon Fox and Oisín Farrelly were all accurate from play. Paddy McDermott added some fine scores to leave it all to play for in the second half.
There was added intensity after the break as both teams were vying for league security. McDermott added a two pointer as the Ross turned the screw. The seasiders broke through for two quickfire goals, one from the penalty spot. The big turning point came when the Hoops were reduced to 14 men with a black card offence. Cilles added a fourth goal with their extra man driving decisive. Carnaross replied with a monster two pointer from full back Mossy Plunkett before Shane O’Reilly added another. A 2 point effort that drifted wide saw the slim chances of reeling in the Seasiders evaporate. The Cilles ran out worthy winners with their ability to land goals the difference. For Carnaross, it's a relegational final against Nobber in the next fortnight.
