Seneschalstown 2-22 Dunsany 0-10

Seneschalstown’s third team made it four wins on the spin in the Waterways Environmental Ltd. Football League Division 10 with this comfortable victory in Dunsany.

Despite a first half performance where the visitors had a lot of the ball, they only went in 0-08 to 0-06 at the break after a profligate showing in front of the posts.   Johnny Gilsenan and Seán Davis lead the way with points, as Ross Howard, Aran Carey and Jack Boland also contributed to the scoreboard in that opening period.

After the break, Seneschalstown massively improved in front of goal as they added a further 2-14.   Gilsenan and Davis continued to impress while Luke Healy, Colm McDonnell, Jamie Barry, Peter Tierney and Niall McCabe also got their names on the scoresheet.

Seneschalstown finally raised a green flag in the final 10 minutes, and like a bus two came along almost at once.   Firstly Niall McCabe found space on his way to goal and unleashed a rocket into the top left corner.   Shortly after a good team move ended with McCabe putting ball across the square for Luke Healy to finish to an empty net.

Seneschalstown will be happier with their second half performance and will hope to back it up in their final round game against Skryne on Tuesday.

Mick Dillon’s Man of the Match award this week went to corner back Josh Keating after a tidy display at corner back.

Seneschalstown scorers: Johnny Gilsenan 0-07, Seán Davis 0-06, (1 tp), Niall McCabe & Luke Healy 1-01, Ross Howard 0-02, Aran Carey, Colm McDonnell, Jack Boland, Jamie Barry, Peter Tierney 0-01 each
