Kilmainhamwood made the trip over to sunny Tony Callaghan Park on Tuesday last. The Wood needing a win had a strong panel of players to pick from.
Duleek started the stronger of the two outfits with a free, a point from play and a 2 pointer to put the Wood under pressure early. The Wood responded in kind with 2 well taken points from the returning Rian Stafford to get the Wood off the mark. Duleek Bellewstown found the net and added a nicely converted free to get ahead again. A nice point from Charlie Cunningham and Shane Townley keeping the Wood within touching distance. Rian Stafford rounded out the half with a well converted free.

Duleek Bellewstown started stronger in the 2nd half tagging on a flurry of points to put real breathing space between the sides. Killian Bennett worked hard to get a score on the board to get the Wood scoreboard ticking again. A point from substitute Callum Crosbie cancelled out a score Duleek Bellewstown had made just before that. Duleek Bellewstown added another flurry of points to really take the sting out of the game as a contest. The Wood tried hard to belridge the gap and did so through hard earned scores from Brian Cassidy and a 2 pointer from Rian SStafford.
This defeat leaves the Wood with an uphill but not impossible task to make the League semi final positions. The Wood welcome table toppers St Peters Dunboyne to Kilmainhamwood next Tuesday.
