Rathmolyon Hurling Club is once again delighted to host 'The Evan Brennan Skills Challenge' for 2024.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to Rathmolyon HC on Saturday 24th August. This special event, now in it's sixth year will be another great day as we continue to remember Evan and his love for hurling.
Seventeen-year-old Evan Brennan died after the car he was driving hit a fence in Ballivor in May of 2017. Hailing from nearby Summerhill, Evan was one of Rathmolyon hurling club's brightest prospects and had been part of Meath hurling development squads in recent years.
Evan was also an outstanding footballer and was a vital part of an excellent, title winning, Summerhill underage crop from their under 12 days right up to this year's minor side.
As in other years, Evan's parents Sandra and Shane generously donate to chosen charities from the proceeds of the day. This year, two charities have been chosen - Féileacáin who provide support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during or after pregnancy and The Dillon Quirke Foundation - working to raise awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and fund widespread cardiac screening for young people (aged 12-18) involved in sport.

We really look forward to seeing everyone on the day.
