Former Simonstown and Meath minor star Conor Nash has signed a new long term deal with Hawthorn for the next five years. The new contract will ensure that the Navan man remains in the brown and gold until 2029.

Nash joined the Hawks in 2016 and signed a two year extension in 2022.

He made his debut for the Hawks in the 2018 season and kicked his first goal at AFL level in against St Kilda that year.

The Hawks announced the extension on their social media sites.

“We couldn’t be happier for Conor to remain in brown and gold for at least the next five years through this deserved long-term deal,” McKenzie said.

“Having set our sights on Conor as a talented 15-year-old, with the support of his family, he has made some enormous sacrifices moving from Ireland as an 18-year-old kid to pursue an AFL career.

“Building upon his junior success in Gaelic football and rugby, Conor’s character and work ethic have contributed immensely to his development into one of the most combative midfielders in the competition.

“In the past few seasons, Conor has earned universal respect from his teammates for his toughness and physicality around the contest, as well as his willingness to perform selfless shut-down roles for the betterment of the team.

“Having only turned 26 earlier this this week, we absolutely see Conor playing a big part in our future success as a football club.”

Speaking to AFL.com.au after signing the five-year deal Nash said.

"I always wanted to get to the halfway mark and then we start talks. For me, there was outside interest, but I think everyone is starting to see where the club is going, which is just something I have to be part of," Nash told AFL.com.au after signing the five-year deal.

"I've got too many good relationships with too many players and great people at Hawthorn to leave. In the end, I just kept coming back to I had to be part of the future here. I couldn't leave."
