
Simonstown 4-17 Dunderry 2-5
Simonstown were crowned Meath Under 15 Division 3 Football League champions after this comfortable win over Dunderry at Pairc Tailteann.
Cian Baker O’Reilly put Dunderry on the scoreboard first but Simonstown hit back with five unanswered points from Leon Butler (3), Conor Brennan and Sam McGuinness. Dunderry enjoyed their best spell in the game between the 10th and 15th minute. Goals from Andrew Treacy and O’Reilly along with an Evan Callaghan point had them in front 2-2 to 0-5 but for the remainder of the half Simonstown dominated. Butler raised their first green flag on the 17th minute, Ryan O’Neill added their second minutes later and along with seven unanswered points Ned Kearney’s charges went in at the break 2-12 to 2-3 in front.
Two more goals from McGuinness and Conor Brennan in the opening twelve minutes of the second half sent Simonstown on the road to a comfortable win.
After the game sponsor Pat O'Reilly and Minor Board Chairman Ray Finnegan presented the Under 15 Division 3 Football League cup to Simonstown captain Leon Butler.
