St. Michaels U13's celebrate at Carlanstown

St. Michaels 4-03  Seneschalstown 2-07

By the narrowest of margins and following an epic contest the young girls of St. Michaels secured the big prize as they just about held out against a gallant Seneschalstown side in an epic final in Carlanstown on Saturday afternoon last.

There was a great air of expectation around the winners camp in the build up to this game and it did not disappoint. It was a hugely entertaining match, a joy to watch as both sets of supporters which included every family member right down to the players grandparent's who packed the sidelines of the Carlanstown venue on what was a perfect day for football and who experienced the whole gamut of emotions as the drama unfolded.

It was devastation at the end of an absolutely thrilling game for the Seneschalstown girls as they lost out by just two points to the St. Michaels girls who had to use all their resilience and character to see off the brave challenge of the losers.

Credit must go to our management team of David, Sean and Maria for their work with this great team over the past twelve months, I have no doubt it's the first of many trophies for them.
