Ratoath 0-8 Dunshaughlin 0-7
The swirling wind made it extremely difficult for all teams at Pairc Tailteann yesterday. The second game of the day was no different as Ratoath claimed the Premiere Division 1 Football Championship with a point to spare over Dunshaughlin.
Cian Gallogly got the scoreboard working for Kevin Kealy’s men but Ratoath hit back through Domhnall Rogers and Conor O’Sullivan to take the lead after ten minutes. Dunshaughlin enjoyed their best period in the game after that and a brace from Wes Goodwin and Tadhg Ó Dúshláine gave them a 0-5 to 0-3 half time lead.
Oisin Cunningham and O’Sullivan had the game tied up fifteen minutes into the second half. Goodwin had Dunshaughlin back in fromt with his third point before Ratoath made their push for home. O’Sullivan put them in front again before Liam Corbett fired over the score of the match from underneath the stand. Half back Adam Whelan put his side two up as the clock with into injury time. Harry Dunne got one back for Dunshaughlin but the equaliser they needed never arrived and Ratoath were crowned champions.
After the game County Board Vice Chairman Paddy Kelly along with sponsor Mary Tobin presented the Premier Division 1 Cup to a delighted Ratoath captain Daragh McGill.
