Drumconrath's Robert McEntaggart

Drumconrath 3-17 Eastern Gaels 0-6

Drumconrath negotiated a victory over new club Eastern Gaels with minimum fuss on Friday even after a dominant 1st half display settled the issue.

Eastern Gaels to be fair to them stuck to their task and their 1st half tally of 3 points equalled the total of scores they got in their Round 1&2 games.

Drums welcomed back Declan Lafferty who had a steading influence at Full Back while Robert McGahan got his 1st Championship start.

A Ryan Moore goal within the 1st minute set the tone as Drumconrath scored freely and had 1-10 on the board before the Gaels landed their 1st score on 23 minutes.

Two quickfire Drumconrath goals and another point brought the tally to 3-11 as the newbies added 2 more points.

Drumconrath made 4 substitutions at the break and found it hard to keep the 1st half enthusiasm going as they added a further 6 points to their tally as Eastern Gaels managed 3 more points of their own.

Robert McEnataggart and Oran Brady were best for the men in Red.

Drumconrath; Cathal Dunne (0-1), Declan Lafferty, Graham Scully; Oran Brady (0-1), Robert McEntaggart (0-1), Ryan Moore (1-0); Tomas Conlon (1-4), Keith Byrne; Jack Campbell, Shaun Murray (0-2), Robert McGahan; Patrick Farrelly (0-1), Jamie ONeill, Daniel Byrne (1-7).

Subs; Aaron Farrelly for Farrelly, Dylan Dardis for Moore, Ryan Dunne for Campbell & Josh Flanagan for McGahan.
