Reserve Cup Div 2: Bracks advance to last four

February 21, 2023

Ballinabrackey's Ronan Thompson

Ballinabrackey  2-11 Skryne 0-5

Ballinabrackey made the journey down to Skryne to face a very young home side for round 3 of the Reserve Cup.

The visitors started the game well with points from play coming from Evan Daly and Ronan Thompson. Skryne got their first point of the game but also pick up a black card from David Gough. The Bracks used this to kick on ahead of the home team with scores coming from Evan Daly, Aidan Fitzpatrick, Ronan Thompson (goal), Leo Cullen and Colin Quinn. With some great passages of play and the Bracks scoring at ease they went into the half time break after scoring 1:12 to 0:02.

The opening first few minutes were vital for Skryne but it was Evan Daly who caused considerable trouble for the Skryne backs who found his way through the defence to score a great goal. He also kicked a free straight after. Skryne came into the game in the last quarter and kicked 3 more scores but a red card for them and Colin Quinn kicking another point for us left the final score as Ballinabrackey 2:11 to Skryne 0:05
