Ratoath claimed their third Keegan Cup success in four years with a narrow win over Summerhill in a very entertaining senior football championship final at Pairc Tailteann.
David Brady’s men had to withstand a very brave Summerhill fightback and in the end held on to win by a point.
2021 champions Wolfe Tones surrendered their crown at the semi-final stage while Na Fianna surprised many by reaching the last four.
Our nominees are
Conor McGill, Ratoath
Eamon Wallace, Ratoath
Ross Ryan, Summerhill
Conor Frayne, Summerhill
Shane Walsh, Na Fianna
Stephen Sheppard, Wolfe Tones
Our award goes to Eamon Wallace.
The switch from attack to a sweeper role was a very shrewd move by the Ratoath management team in their quest for a third Keegan Cup. His link play and pace going forward gave the opposition many nervous moments. His three points from play in the county final were crucial to the outcome.
Well done Eamonn
