HL Div 5 final: Whelan stars as Rathmolyon find that little extra

A hat trick of goals from corner forward Daniel Whelan proved the difference between Rathmolyon and Navan O’Mahony in this very entertaining Meath Division 5 Hurling League final played in ideal conditions at St. Lomans park Trim. PHOTOS

With normal time up Rathmolyon looked set for victory until Brian Dunne sent over to level the match 0-14 to 2-8 and send the game in to extra time.

With two minutes left on the clock in extra time O’Mahonys held a two point advantage but in the dying second Whelan struck for his third goal to seal a memorable win for the Village.
