On a perfect evening for football Bhulf Tón were the sharper team in the opening exchanges and were 1-4 ahead before the home side hit their first point. Half time saw Tones lead 2-7 to 0-5. The second half exchanges were very competitive as the home side rallied but the goal they needed never came. The scoreline read 2-10 to 0-10 before two late goals from Tom Gavigan ensured the points were going to the Oristown men.
