When Kevin Reilly replaced Brendan Murphy as Trim first team manager in early 2021 little did the Reds know about the journey the former county star was to bring them on.
After a layoff of approximately 8 months, the Meath club scene got up and running last June. 20 games later over the course of three competitions the Reds have remained unbeaten and have claimed the Corn na Boinne, The Mattie McDonnell Cup, the Leinster title and are one step away from a perfect 21 this Sunday at Croke Park.
Reilly will be the first to point out that the work done by former Meath colleague Murphy in the previous three years was a crucial component in Trim’s historic run.
Selectors Harry Dunphy, Ciaran Giblin, Paul Gilsenan and James Rafferty complete the Trim backroom team who have scored a massive 39 goals and 294 points en route to GAA HQ.
Reilly's charges take on Brian Og’s Steelstown from Derry and will aim to become the first Meath club to claim the title and continue that remarkable unbeaten run.
