
In the first of the Meath senior football championship quarter finals Dunboyne recorded an eight point win over St. Colmcilles at Ashbourne. St. Peters led 0-5 to 0-3 at the first water break and 0-8 to 0-6 at half time. By the second water break the favourites had opened up a 1-13 to 0-7 lead and went on to record a comfortable win. They now await the winners of Donaghmore Ashbourne and Gaeil Colmcille.
In the senior relegation play off Dunshaughlin led 1-6 to 1-3 at half time and still led by 2 with 12 minutes remaining but Seneschalstown staged a late recovery to win by 2 and secure senior status for another year.
In the junior Dunsany had few problems in Donore.
