IFC: Strong second half showing seals win for Ballivor

Ballivor 3-14 Kilmainham 0-9

Ballivor took on Kilmainham in round 3 of the Intermediate Football Championship in Cortown on a perfect night for football. PHOTOS

It was Kilmainham that started quickly and raced into a four points to nil lead after 6 minutes. Ballivor began to find their feet after this and after 14 mins were level through points from Brendan McKeon, Kevin McKeon and Adam Gannon. It was nip and tuck for the remainder of the first have with the side swapping points through out with Ballivor's scores coming from Brendan McKeon, Adam Gannon and Paddy Conneely to leave the halftime score Ballivor 0-7 Kilmainham 0-6.

Ballivor started the second half like a team on a mission and raced into a four point lead with points coming from Brendan McKeon, Evan Fitzgerald and Adam Gannon. Then Ballivor hit the net when after breaking up an attack theyr worked the ball quickly to midfield where it was fed to Nicky Potterton who raced through the Kilmainham defence and cooly finish to the net.

A couple of minutes later Ballivor got their second goal when after a run from Adam Gannon he fed Podger Geoghegan who sold a dummy before finishing to the net.

Ballivor were well on top now and followed with their third goal after a short Kilmainham kickout Ballivor pressured their backs and after Keith Keoghan blocked down an attempted clearance the ball fell to Kevin McKeon who finished to the net.

The winners added further points through Adam Gannon and Brendan McKeon to leave the full time score Ballivor 3-14 Kilmainham 0-9.
