St. Michaels 0-08, Dunderry 1-16

Dunderry bagged their first points in this years intermediate championship following this victory over a disappointing St. Michaels side in Kilmainham on Sunday evening.
Although the St. Michaels lads tried their hardest they were no match for a finely tuned Dunderry side who ruled the roost from the off, especially at midfield where they reduced the St. Michaels forwards to mere spectators as they were being deprived of any decent ball into their half of the field.

The winners made the best of starts and were 0-7 to 0-1 up by the first water break, Shane Mc Donnell pointed after five minutes play for his side to lead for the first and only time in the match, Dunderry equalised a minute later and added a further eight points ( 4 frees ) before the interval for a 0-9 to 0-3 cushion. McDonnell and Ben Reilly added their sides only other scores of the half.

Dunderry stretched that lead straight from the throw-in, however a converted free from goalkeeper / free taker Ciaran Lynch cancelled that one out and some great work by McDonnell who supplied Oran Meehan for a well taken point gave the 'Michaels supporters some hope of a second half revival however it wasn't to be, Dunderry added a further two minors, one from a '45 and one from play, Jamie Farrelly responded with a point following a “mark” however a converted penalty two minutes later put an end to the St. Michaels recovery as they then trailed by 0-6 to 1-12 at the end of the third quarter.

David Lynch and his brother Ciaran who was moved out into the forwards to bolster the attack completed the scoring for St. Michaels with a point apiece while the winners added a further four points to their tally for a comfortable victory.
