The Meath hurling cup competitions continued at pace over the weekend. One player was busier than most and stood out in the scoring honours.

On Friday Evan Fitzgerald line out in the number 15 jersey as Kildalkey seniors defeated Blackhall Gaels with ease in the second round of the Brendan Davis Cup. Fitzgerald was replaced in the second half but not before he had scored 2-2 in that 2-21 to 1-11 win.

The following day Evan lined out for Kildalkey’s second string in their comfortable Billy Byrne Cup win over Gaeil Colmcille at home. The corner forward scored an impressive 4-1 in that 7-19 to 1-8 win. 

A busy but very productive couple of days for the former Meath senior panelist with a very impressive tally of 6-3.
