November 15, 2019

Curraha's Jack O'Connor

Leader for a long time, Jack O’Connor has claimed the Meath senior football championship top scorer award for 2019.

The young Curraha star scored freely in every round including the preliminary quarter final to finish 11 points clear of second place Robbie McCarthy.

Jack’s record: Round 1 (0-9), Round 2 (2-8), Round 3 (0-5), Round 4 (1-6), Round 5 (1-6), Preliminary Quarter Final (0-5).

County champions Ratoath finished well off the pace with Connell Ahearne and Conor Rooney on 4-14 each but the Keegan Cup winners had the biggest spread of scorers, 16 players got on the mark for Davy Byrne’s charges over the seven games.

Interestingly Donaghmore Ashbourne keeper Andy Colgan was the club’s 3rd top scorer with 13 points.
