DUNBOYNE 3-18 SYDDAN 0-2
This is an outing that a depleted Syddan will want to forget in a hurry against the county champions at Dunboyne on Sunday morning.
Minus several regulars the visitors were no match for the home side who were also without a number of first team players.
Syddan just managed two points for the hour, both of which came from full forward Gary Farrelly, one of which was a free.
Dunboyne led 1-4 to 0-0 at the end of the opening quarter with the goal coming from Jason Daly. The hosts added a further two points before Farrelly had Syddan off the mark from a free on 24 minutes.
The hosts eventually led 1-7 to 0-2 at the end of a first half during which Syddan hit eight wides.
Dunboyne added a further eight points in the third quarter, with three of them coming from joint top scorer Robbie McCarthy.
Jason Daly who finished with a personal tally of 2-2 struck for his second goal on 55 minutes. McCarthy then completed the rout with a third goal three minutes from the finish.
