FL Div 4: Two in a row for Clanns

Clann Na nGael 1-10 St. Brigid's  1-4

Following a severe downpour 15 mins before the game, the weather held up for the hour as Clann Na nGael and St.Brigid's played out a competitive match in Athboy on Sunday morning.

Clann dominated possession early on but were having difficulty converting their chances as a strong cross wind made scoring difficult.  A goal by John Daly and points from Eoin Griffin, Gerry Sullivan. Eamonn O'Donnachada, and two from Darragh Swaine had Clann leading 1-5 to 0-3 at half time.

Clann started the second half well and were leading by seven points with further points by Jack Doherty, John Daly and Darragh Swaine.  St. Brigid's stayed in touch by scoring a point and then a well taken goal with 10 minutes remaining, to leave only 4 points in it.   

However, St. Brigid's didn't register another score and Clann Na nGael finished out the game with further points from Eoin Griffin and Darragh Swaine to lead by six points at the end.

John Farrell, Jack Doherty, Eamonn O' Donnachada, and Darragh Swaine performed well for Clann Na nGael.

St Brigids Report

St Brigids travelled to Athboy on Sunday on a day that seen ever changing weather conditions. 

St  Brigids has to work against the wind in the first half which appeared to be stronger then thought. Clann na nGael were quick to put themselves on the scoreboard and an unfortunate goal was conceded. Points for the Brigids came from both Blake cousins before the half time whistle. 

The second half seen the Brigids needed to work against the wind yet again which proved to be a strong hindrance. Scores from Padraig Plunkett and a goal  from Dylan Tighe seemed to the lift the momentum however it was the home aide who finished stronger and claimed the win.
