Moylagh 1-14 Kilmainhamwood 1-4

Moylagh remain unbeaten in Division 4 with a  comprehensive win over Kilmainhamwood. This game was originally fixed to be played in Kilmainhamwood on Sunday morning but it was refixed for Moylagh and Moylagh took full advantage of playing on their well turned out pitch.

They also took full advantage off playing with the aid of a strong wind in the first half and Tommy O Reilly’s goal midway through the half and four points from Alan Mccann helped Moylagh into a 1-6 too 0-1 lead at halftime.

Moylagh started the second half brightly and three pointed frees from Tommy O Reilly kept the score board ticking over for Moylagh. Kilmainhamwood chipped in with a goal and three points of their own but Moylagh never looked in any bother

Kilmainhamwood Report

Kilmainhamwood 1-4  Moylough 1-12

Kilmainhamwood lost their first game of the 2019 division 4 A league. The game was played in conditions that looked straight out of a David Attenborough documentary in the South Pole and hail and snow rained down upon the two teams.

Moylough started off brightly and pushed up to continuously attack the Kilmainhamwood attack. The men in green scored the first three points before the Wood answered with a Niall Bennett pointed free. A wayward sideline pass led to a Moylough attack that ended up with a palmed goal to an empty net. Moylough continued to dominate the rest of the half and it finished 1-6 to 1 point at the half. Moylough has played with a huge wind so the Wood were not fully out of it at this stage.

The second half started off quickly with the Wood trying to attack. Moylough scores the first shot with a free, before a Paul Carolan point and an Andy Farrelly point, slightly reduced the margin. However Moylough continued to dominate and started scoring again.

A David Russell point and a Micheal Shankey goal were the only scores the Wood got late on. Overall Moylough were the better team and deserved the win.

Kilmainhamwood: Padraig Carlon, Luke Owens, Padraic Barber, Jude Collins, Paul Carolan (0-1), Harry Corbally, Alan Carolan, Paddy Carolan, Niall Bennett (0-1), Niall Conlon, Andy Farrelly (0-1), Oisin Fagen, David Russell (0-1), Ryan Gillespie, Micheal Shankey (1-0). Subs, Cathal Bennett for Gillespie, Niall McCabe for A Carolan, Richard Corbally for L Owens
