Former chairman Barney Allen led tributes to the late Peter McKeever who died recently. The Rathkenny delegate said Peter was a native of the parish and had lined out with local clubs, Rathkenny and Grange Stars, as well as North Meath which was a divisional team at the time.
Peter went on to become a member of the famous Navan O'Mahonys team that captured five senior championships in a row. He captained O'Mahonys to the first of those Keegan Cup wins in 1957. Earlier in his career he won an All-Ireland junior medal with Meath in 1952.
Tributes were also paid to the late Con Ryan, a Tipperary native who was a staunch member of the O'Mahonys club for many years and also acted as a steward in Pairc Tailteann.
Also remembered was another former Rathkenny player Jack White, brother of 1967 All-Ireland winner Mick, who died on Sunday
