Nobber 1-14 Na Fianna 0-17
For the second time in 5 days Nobber's second team recovered from a very precarious position.
They came from a 6 point half time deficit against Blackhall Gaels in the B League on Monday to record a victory and on this occasion they recovered from an 8 point half time deficit later extended to 9 points to gain a well deserved draw at the end.
Na Fianna were rampant in the first half racing into a 7 points to 1 lead after 12 minutes and Nobber looked further doomed when centre forward Declan Shields was red carded.
Na Fianna led 0-11 to 0-3 at half time with Nobber's points coming from a Karl Casserly free and one from play and a further point from Thomas McCormack.
A better start to the second half saw both teams match each other with Na Fianna leading 0-15 to 0-6 well into the half.
With Richie Shields, Gavin Farrelly and Pauric Weldon making marauding runs at the heart of the Na Fianna defence they were fouled time and time again and Karl Casserly duly obliged by pointing the resultant frees.
Farrelly was unceremoniously dragged down in the penalty area which Casserly converted. Richie Shields and Gavin Farrelly continued to supply Casserly with excellent ball and if he wasn't fouled he pointed from play.
Farrelly also rowed in with 3 class points in the second half with further scores from Shields and Dara Cassidy. Casserly then pointed a free with the last kick of the game and it was Na Fianna who sighed with relief when the final whistle blew.
