JFC D: Ratoath win in Walterstown

April 16, 2018

Ratoath's Evan Donnelly

Ratoath 2-7 Kilmainham 0-6

Ratoath had seven points to spare over Kilmainham in this opening round of the Junior C FC at Walterstown.

Playing  against a strong wind Ratoath used their experience in the first half to go in 1-4 to 0-3 up. A great goal from Mick Lavin and great work rate from the forwards kept their noses in front.

Despite playing with the wind in the second half this half was a much tighter affair . The crucial score came from Robbie Madden who scored the goal to keep a cushion between the teams. Overall a great start to the championship. Best for Ratoath we're John Kirwan, Robbie Madden, Evan Donnelly and Darren Lyons.

Ratoath scorers: Robbie Madden 1-2, Mick Lavin 1-0, John Kirwan 0-2, Darren Lyons, Paul Kirwan and Cian O Connor 0-1 each.
