David Clifford has been named in the Kerry matchday panel for tonight’s Allianz Football League round three clash against Mayo in Castlebar.

The Footballer of the Year has not featured for the Kingdom since last year's All-Ireland SFC final triumph against Galway at Croke Park, but returned to the same venue last month when he inspired his native Fossa to victory over Tyrone's Stewartstown Harps in the All-Ireland club junior football decider.

Kerry boss Jack O’Connor has opted for just one change to his starting line-up from win over Monaghan last time out and it sees Paudie Clifford come in for the All-Ireland champions at centre half-forward.

His brother David and fellow All-Star winners Sean O’Shea and Shane Ryan are named among the substitutes as the holders look for their second win of the campaign.

Throw-in at Hastings MacHale Park is at 7.30pm.
