Gneeveguilla (Kerry) and Kilmeena (Mayo) will go head-to-head in this year's All-Ireland Club JFC final at Croke Park on Sunday week after both sides delivered strong first-half performances in their respective wins over Denn and Clonbullogue.

Four first-half goals sent Gneeveguilla on their way to a 5-8 to 1-12 victory against Denn at Bord na Mona O'Connor Park in Tullamore.

The Cavan champions were badly exposed in the full-back line on numerous occasions in the opening half as goals by Shane O'Sullivan (2), John O'Leary and Pa Warren enabled the East Kerry district side to build up an assailable twelve-point lead at the break, 4-4 to 0-4.

Denn hit back with a goal of their own from Brandon Keogan on the restart, and although they improved after the break, a fifth Gneeveguilla major through Jack Cremin kept the Munster winners firmly in the driving seat.

Elsewhere this afternoon, at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, Kilmeena turned in a dominant display to see off the challenge of Offaly outfit Clonbullogue by 1-18 to 0-6.

Inspired by the impressive Jack Carney and goalscorer Darragh Keavney, the West Mayo men made full use of the wind advantage to race 1-12 to 0-2 clear at half-time.

Clonbullogue's day in Longford was summed up when midfielder Jack McEvoy was shown a second yellow card midway through the second-half.
