Ó Sé can't call it

Tomás Ó Sé reckons tomorrow's All-Ireland football final is too close to call.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland programme, the newly-appointed Offaly selector was very much of the opinion that it's a 50/50 game.

"I’ve watched every match. I’ve listened to every so-called expert, read every article, thought about every possible scenario that could happen," Ó Sé said.

"I can argue everything that has been said. The simple reason is both teams have what it takes to nullify the strengths the others possess.

"Tyrone ran through Kerry in the semi-final. They got 2-9 from turnovers. I can’t see Mayo being as naïve from a defensive point of view. Tyrone have serious running ability but it’s their hand-passing, kick-passing, their skillset that’s so impressive.

"Mayo have a middle third that can slow that down. And it starts with the likes of Ryan O’Donoghue and Tommy Conroy. Their work-rate is phenomenal. Just like Tyrone, they have an unbelievably impressive defence."

He continued: "Everyone spoke about Dublin and Kerry but the two best teams this year are in the final. Both teams will have to be right on the day psychologically.

"Maybe Mayo, but honestly I haven’t a clue."
