Meath captain Brendan Murphy
Experienced goalkeeper Brendan Murphy has been named as captain of the Meath senior football team for the coming year.
This season will mark only the Trim clubman's fourth year with the squad having previously been on the books of three soccer clubs in England.
Murphy won an All-Ireland MFC medal with the Royal County in 1992 before joining up with Bradford City under Frank Stapleton before moving on to Wimbledon.
He has been back living in Trim for the number of years and rejoined the senior squad in Sean Boylan's last year at the helm, 2005.
