17:26

That's all from me on another action-packed afternoon / evening. Thanks for reading and take care!

17:25

So, job done on the double for John Kiely's impressive charges today as they refuse to relinquish either their league or Munster championship crowns.

17:22

The prize for the winners is a Munster semi-final meeting with All-Ireland champions Tipperary at Pairc Ui Chaoimh next weekend, while they are also crowned national hurling league winners for the second year running. Clare go into the Qualifiers.

17:21

Munster SHC quarter-final full time: Limerick 0-36 Clare 1-23

The sides were level eight times in the first half and it was all-square at the break, but the Treaty County stepped on the gas after the resumption to power to an emphatic ten-point victory. Thirty-six scores is astonishing (the second-most ever in a championsip match) and I believe they had eleven different scorers.

17:19

Munster SHC quarter-final: Limerick 0-36 Clare 1-23

There was still time for a Malone consolation point.

17:18

Substitute Seamus Flanagan becomes the tenth Limerick scorer.

17:11

Hayes shimmies past his man to notch the Treaty's 31st score.

17:10

Five minutes left plus injury time...

Thirteen minutes left here and Limerick lead by five. They have had nine scorers from play. Kelly on target 15 times for Clare...

A Taylor point keeps the Banner County ticking over...

Five in it thanks to Diarmuid Byrnes, then Hegarty claims his third...

16:58

Limerick have reeled off some lovely points with the wind behind them, while Taylor's goal has handed Clare a potential lifeline...

16:57

Munster SHC quarter-final: Clare 1-18 Limerick 0-25

Declan Hannon and Mulcahy leave four between them as we pause again for the second water break.

16:55

Munster SHC quarter-final: Clare 1-18 Limerick 0-23

Casey and Kelly swap scores. No flow at all to this game. Referee Fergal Horgan seems intent on breaking things up at every opportunity.

16:53

Munster SHC quarter-final: Clare 1-17 Limerick 0-22

Gillane's free doubles the difference. That's his tenth score.

16:51

Goal!

The yellow sliothar breaks kindly for Ryan Taylor and he moves through ominously to hammer his shot to the roof of the net - 1-17 to 0-21!

16:50

Munster SHC quarter-final: Clare 0-17 Limerick 0-21

That one was from a free and Kelly now adds one from play...

16:49

16:37

Clare bring in Aron Shanagher in place of Fitzgerald for the second half.

16:35

Looking forward to the second half. Some wonderful skill on display thus far, which is amazing considering how long of a lay-off the players have had since mid-March. Remember, this is also doubling up as the national hurling league final.

16:25

What an amazing first-half display from former Hurler of the Year Tony Kelly, who registered twelve points. Surely John Kiely will come up with a plan to curb the Ballyea ace when they restart?

16:24

Munster SHC quarter-final half time: Clare 0-15 Limerick 0-15

Nothing to separate the teams at the break. Unsurprisingly, the game is lacking the magical atmosphere one would associate with the Munster hurling championship, through no fault of the players, of course.

16:23

Munster SHC quarter-final: Clare 0-15 Limerick 0-15

Make than a dozen for Kelly as he nails another free in stoppage time at the end of the first half. Diarmuid Ryan then ties the sides up for the eighth time from out wide on the right!

16:07

Water breaks, yellow sliothars, empty stadia and the Munster senior hurling championship starting in late October ... we are living in strange times.

16:05

Munster SHC quarter-final: Clare 0-9 Limerick 0-7

Another Kelly free means Clare lead by two at the first water break, with 19 minutes elapsed. Kelly has eight points to his credit thus far.

Team news:

Andy Colgan replaces Marcus Brennan in goals in one late change to the Meath starting XV.

13:44

In Division Three, Leitrim need a mini miracle to dodge relegation. But Laois pulled off something pretty special yesterday, so who knows?...

13:43

Meath are extremely unlucky to be pointless after six games in Division One. I fancy them to bring their A game to Clones today and perhaps to sign off with a bang ahead of the championship. Monaghan could be vulnerable as they face Cavan in the championship in just six days. Having said that, they have a proud record of playing Division One football for the last six years to preserve, so they should be up for the contest, too.

13:40

Mayo-Tyrone is always tasty and there's the added ingredient of both being in relegation trouble. Mickey Harte has named a strong side but surely the Red Hands have one eye on next Sunday's clash with Donegal in the Ulster SFC, while Mayo effectively have a free swing at them today.

13:38

Kerry's win over Donegal yesterday has taken the sting out of today's Galway-Dublin game, although both teams will be keen to sign off with a win ahead of their championship campaigns. The Tribesmen will be particularly anxious to banish the ghost of last weekend's drubbing at the hands of Mayo.

12:45

Whatever happens, we are in for a dramatic day of football and hurling action - I'll be back in an hour with a build-up to the FL games, followed by text commentary on all seven matches.

12:43

Division One

Mayo are currently in the drop zone but will be safe if they beat Tyrone. Monaghan have to overcome relegated Meath to have any chance of staying up. As Tyrone and Monaghan both have massive Ulster SFC matches next weekend, they are at a disadvantage today and could both lose, which would see the Farney County's long run in the top division come to an end.

12:38

Likely permutations...

Offaly are not yet completely safe in Division Three as they could be relegated if they lose to Derry and Leitrim claim a resounding victory over Tipperary. Two points behind both Tipp and Offaly and also with an inferior score difference, Leitrim's best chance of survival is if they beat the Premier County and Offaly take something from Derry, thereby rendering score difference irrelevant.

12:15

Munster SHC:

Limerick and Clare face-off in a historic derby at Semple Stadium. The winners will advance to a semi-final meeting with All-Ireland champions Tipperary next weekend and will also be crowned 2020 national hurling league winners.

12:12

FL3:

Cork and Down have already been promoted and Louth will finish bottom of the Division Three table. Again, the issue remaining to be determined is who will be the second relegated team... Leitrim need to beat Tipperary in a relegation shoot-out Carrick-on-Shannon to have an chance of survival. Offaly are at home to Derry and Louth entertain Down. Longford granted Cork a walkover.

12:08

FL1:

With Kerry crowned league winners yesterday, there's one issue to be decided in the top tier - who will be relegated alongside Meath? It'll be one from Monaghan, Tyrone or Mayo. The Oriel men are at home to the Royals, Tyrone travel to Castlebar to face high-flying Mayo, and Galway entertain Dublin in a dead rubber.

12:04

The league concludes, the Munster hurling championship begins...

The national football league concludes today with three games in Division One and three more in Division Three. Meanwhile, neighbours Clare and Limerick face off at Thurles in the opening match of the 2020 Munster SHC - a clash which is uniquely doubling up as this year's national hurling league Division One decider.
