The prize for the winners is a Munster semi-final meeting with All-Ireland champions Tipperary at Pairc Ui Chaoimh next weekend, while they are also crowned national hurling league winners for the second year running. Clare go into the Qualifiers.

In Division Three, Leitrim need a mini miracle to dodge relegation. But Laois pulled off something pretty special yesterday, so who knows?...

Meath are extremely unlucky to be pointless after six games in Division One. I fancy them to bring their A game to Clones today and perhaps to sign off with a bang ahead of the championship. Monaghan could be vulnerable as they face Cavan in the championship in just six days. Having said that, they have a proud record of playing Division One football for the last six years to preserve, so they should be up for the contest, too.

Mayo-Tyrone is always tasty and there's the added ingredient of both being in relegation trouble. Mickey Harte has named a strong side but surely the Red Hands have one eye on next Sunday's clash with Donegal in the Ulster SFC, while Mayo effectively have a free swing at them today.

Kerry's win over Donegal yesterday has taken the sting out of today's Galway-Dublin game, although both teams will be keen to sign off with a win ahead of their championship campaigns. The Tribesmen will be particularly anxious to banish the ghost of last weekend's drubbing at the hands of Mayo.

Whatever happens, we are in for a dramatic day of football and hurling action - I'll be back in an hour with a build-up to the FL games, followed by text commentary on all seven matches.

Division One

Mayo are currently in the drop zone but will be safe if they beat Tyrone. Monaghan have to overcome relegated Meath to have any chance of staying up. As Tyrone and Monaghan both have massive Ulster SFC matches next weekend, they are at a disadvantage today and could both lose, which would see the Farney County's long run in the top division come to an end.

Likely permutations...

Offaly are not yet completely safe in Division Three as they could be relegated if they lose to Derry and Leitrim claim a resounding victory over Tipperary. Two points behind both Tipp and Offaly and also with an inferior score difference, Leitrim's best chance of survival is if they beat the Premier County and Offaly take something from Derry, thereby rendering score difference irrelevant.

Munster SHC:

Limerick and Clare face-off in a historic derby at Semple Stadium. The winners will advance to a semi-final meeting with All-Ireland champions Tipperary next weekend and will also be crowned 2020 national hurling league winners.

FL3:

Cork and Down have already been promoted and Louth will finish bottom of the Division Three table. Again, the issue remaining to be determined is who will be the second relegated team... Leitrim need to beat Tipperary in a relegation shoot-out Carrick-on-Shannon to have an chance of survival. Offaly are at home to Derry and Louth entertain Down. Longford granted Cork a walkover.

With Kerry crowned league winners yesterday, there's one issue to be decided in the top tier - who will be relegated alongside Meath? It'll be one from Monaghan, Tyrone or Mayo. The Oriel men are at home to the Royals, Tyrone travel to Castlebar to face high-flying Mayo, and Galway entertain Dublin in a dead rubber.
