Annual General Meeting:
St. Patrick's G.A.A. club held a very successful Annual General Meeting on Monday evening last in the clubhouse. Mass was held for the deceased members of 2015 by former club player Fr Pa O Brien. The beautiful Mass given by Fr Pa in which the club remembered all our club members who passed away during the twelve months including Larry Cross, Con Conroy and Mairead Mc Gill. The meeting was opened by Chairman Owen Shaughnessy in front of a large attendance welcomed all members to the meeting. Secretary Hannah Phelan in her secretary report give great details of the club activities on and off the field. Treasurer Paddy Quilligan gave a detailed financial report on the club's finance, while Chairman Owen Shaughnessy gave a short address and pleaded for all club members, players and supporters to get behind this great club for 2016, Owen thanked all those who help him in his three years as chairman and kept the club going forward and on the right track. The following members were elected on the night President: Jack Sheehan, Vice Presidents: Brendan Tobin, Vivian Cobbe, Tim O Connor Snr, Philip Doyle and J.J. Kenneally. Christopher Mortell, Registar/Irish officer: Diarmuid Murphy and Children Officer: Derdie Quigley. Committee: Michael McNamara, Mark Phelan, Ian Blake, John Quilligan, Owen Shaughnessy, Ann Mullins, Tony Quigley, Pat Halpin, Sean Ryan, Emma Byrnes & Laurence Cross.
Larry Cross R.I.P.
All at St Patrick's were saddened at the recent death of Larry Cross. Larry was a member of the great St Patrick's G.A.A. Family. His father Thomas was a lifelong member of the Club. Larry Sons carried on that proud tradition as players and administrators. Larry's father in law the later Paddy McMahon was full forward when Limerick won the 1936 and 1940 All Ireland senior hurling titles. When our Club St Patrick's won three County minor hurling titles in a row 1956, 1957and 1958. In the 1958 minor hurling team was goalie Tommy Costelloe, Dermot Duggan, Noel Moloney, Paddy Quilligan, Paddy Murphy, John McDonogh, Eamonn Mulhall, Jimmy Guinane, Con Connolly, Paddy Cobbe, Jacky O Brien, Pat Doyle, Jimmy Sheehan, Andy Clohessy and Larry Cross. Sadly Dermot Duggan, Noel Moloney, John McDonogh, Con Connolly, Pat Doyle, Jimmy Sheehan and now Larry Cross are now deceased. Three men who were selectors are now deceased Fr Ger McNamee, Jimmy Berkery and Mick Cunneen.
Larry won other underage medals in hurling and football. Larry won a City junior football championship medal and played in two County senior football championship finals 1964 and 1967 and he also played in the 1966 County senior hurling final. His team mates on the 1964 team were Eric Rochford, Michael Collopy, John McDonogh, Pat Ryan, Bobby McNamara, Mick Cunneen, Niall Day, Brian Cobbe, Eric Ryan, John Frost, John Smith, Vivian Cobbe, Paddy O Connor (captain), Brendan Crosse, Paddy Cobbe, Frank Dawson, Paddy Quilligan, Tom O Sullivan and Noel Hennessy. Sadly now Larry Cross, John McDonogh, Pat Ryan, Bobby McNamara, Mick Cunneen, Niall Day, Brendan Cross, Frank Dawson are now deceased. Larry also played national hurling league game in Croke Park against Dublin with Limerick in the 60s. Larry when his playing days were over Larry continued his involvement with the Club as administrator. Larry held many positions and at the time of his death was a member of the committee. Larry was a great club delegate to the City G.A.A. Board for many years. A lifelong member and supporter of Fianna Fáil Larry was an elected member of Limerick City Council and acted as Deputy Mayor on a number of occasions.
Survived by wife Peg, sons Larry, Tommy, daughters Fiona, Marian, grandchildren, Shane, Scott, Ethan, Aoife, Ellie and Ollie, daughters-in-law, Angela, Niamh, son-in-law Ross, brother Sean, sisters Pat and Kay.

Our Hell and Back Fundraiser:
This Sunday our 10 Trojans are ready for the big event. The Hell & Back Trojan is a 10km outdoor man- made terrain consisting of trail runs & mountain paths which our 10 Trojans have to progress over, under, around & through infamous Hell & Back obstacles including 2FM wall, Hell on Earth, Satans pit, Nightmare on Hell St & the Swamp & a treacherous trek up the Little Sugar Loaf Mountain in Bray Co. Wicklow. Best of luck to all our Trojans in making this Fundraising event a success and Many thanks to all who sold Sponsorship cards
Underage Training:
Underage Hurling Training continue this Friday evening in Delta Sports Dome. Training for boys and girls the age groups are listed as follows U6 Boys/ Girls Hurling Training (Born in 2010), U7/8 Boys/ Girls Hurling Training (Born in 2008, 2009) and U9/10 Boys/ Girls Hurling Training: (Born in 2006, 2007) training begins at 7pm to 8pm indoors.
New players and of course parents that would like to give a hand are most welcome. Please bring your child along for fun, fitness and friends. A donation of €2 per child is asked to help cover the hall rental costs. Hurley and helmets are available for younger age groups. Please like and share this post to help get the message out there.

GAA National Draw:
Once again the G.A.A. will run a National draw for all clubs around the Country with top class prizes on offer. The club took part in this draw last year and the club were very successful with the draw, that the club decided to enter the draw again this year. Tickets will be available from the Committee over the next week please support when asked.
