John Kiely declared himself pleased with Limerick’s facile 3-30 to 1-18 victory over Dublin at Croke Park.
In a game overshadowed by Kyle Hayes’ controversial return to action, the five-in-a-row chasing All-Ireland champions romped to their third straight win in Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League.
"A good, solid performance I think is how I would describe it,” the Limerick manager said in an interview with RTÉ.
"Dublin brought a lot of energy in the first 20 minutes, a huge energy, really challenged us on their own puck-out and it took us maybe a little bit of time to adjust.
"Got a great goal obviously ourselves at the start, right down the middle of their defence, and it was very well finished, but I think (the) last 10 minutes before the half-time break, we took the ascendency. We got the last 1-2 before half time and it put a bit of daylight between the two teams.
"We had weathered the storm a bit and I think we brought huge energy to the first five, 10 minutes of the second half, pushed on and widened that gap."
