St. Kieran’s GAA:

AGM 2020

Given the unforeseen circumstances we currently find ourselves in and the inability to organise mass indoor gatherings due to the Covid 19 restrictions it has been decided to conduct our 2020 AGM online on Friday November 20. All club members will be forwarded a link to participate in the event in the week before the meeting.

Intercounty Activity:

There was double delight for Limerick GAA this past weekend with Limerick Senior Footballers adding their second piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet on Saturday when they made the long journey to Sligo and overcame the home side to secure promotion to Division 3 of the National League and as a result of a better head to head result against Wicklow secured the League title. It has been great to see Darragh Treacy back in the Limerick fold over the past two weekends and playing such an influential part contributing a point against Wexford and two all-important second half points last Saturday against Sligo. Congratulations to all the players and management for their victory on Saturday which is a huge boost for football in the county. Saturday’s win was followed up on Sunday afternoon as Limerick senior hurlers retained their National league crown with an emphatic victory over Clare in Thurles and in doing so set up a Munster Semi final encounter with All Ireland Champions Tipperary this Sunday in Cork. Finally there was disappointment for the Limerick minor footballers this past week with the news of the cancellation of the remaining Minor & u20 championship which had been due to commence this past weekend as a result of the current government restrictions due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Sean Ryan and Shane Fitzgerald have been working hard with the panel over the past few months while Paudie McCarthy is a selector with the panel. Hopefully, the championship can be played in the new year and the lads get the opportunity to represent Limerick.
