Gortletteragh club notes

September 01, 2021

Sympathy:

Sincere sympathy to the Keenan family Tooman on the death of their mother Betty (Elizabeth), having reached the marvellous milestone of ninty-five years. To John, Thomas, Teresa, Mary, Gerard and their extended families we tender our heartfelt sympathy. Betty was one of most pleasant and friendly faces you could meet, always extended a warm welcome with a cup of tea and some tasty home baking to anyone who called to her home in Tooman through the years. Betty will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The Keenan family are very active and avid GAA delegates and supporters at both county and club level, as a mark of respect a minutes silence was observed at the Gortletteragh v Leitrim Gaels Senior Championship game last Saturday evening. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

2021 Connacht Gold Senior Championship:

Last Saturday evening we met Leitrim Gaels in the third round of the championship on home ground. It was a hard-fought tough game throughout with every man putting his shoulder to the wheel. There were some well worked scores from both sides including a collection of great goals. Gortletteragh battled right up to the final whistle and came out on top by three points. Final score 4-12 to 1-18. Next weekend, on Friday 3rd September, we meet St Mary’s in the last round of the group stages.
