Aughavas versus Bornacoola

We travelled to Dromod on  Saturday evening last and took on Bornacoola in the first round of the intermediate championship and  after a good enjoyable  encounter  we ran out winners on a score line of  Aughavas 2-9  Bornacoola 1-9,  two well worked goals by Red David Charles and Niall Mc Cabe gave us a 6 point lead at half time, but the bors came back to level the match at  the second half water break a goal by Damian Moran  kept them in the game, but Aughavas showed great heart for the last 15 minutes and scored 3 points to win, nice to get a win in our first year back in the intermediate championship,  it is a long number of years since we beat a first team at intermediate. Best of luck to team & management next Friday evening against this year’s favourites to win the Intermediate  championship Carrigallen,
